Gene Cutter
West Winds Tennis & Fitness
Center is pleased to announce the arrival of Gene Cutter on our professional
tennis staff. Gene was a teaching professional at the renowned Saddlebrook
Resort, home to Jennifer Capriatti, James Blake, Martina Hingis, Justine Henin,
Mardy Fish, and other touring pros. While at Saddlebrook, Gene worked with the
Academy Program consisting of students who had aspirations of turning
professional. He worked with the “Level One” kids and after 4 months was
promoted to senior captain. Gene's job was to work with the Team Leaders to
oversee and develop a program that would enhance each child’s tennis
progression, hopefully, one day achieving a ranking in the top 100 in the
world. Gene was a regular hitting partner for the more advanced students who
needed additional hitting time, as well as a regular hitting partner for the
touring players that were coming in to train for various tournaments.
Gene
personally worked with Marlene Weingartner from Germany. He was her interim
coach when she came to Saddlebrook when her other coaches were unavailable.
Gene also was her hitting partner, working with her during the time period where
her ranking from 78th to 32nd in the world.
Gene is
a high performance coach and takes his knowledge of biomechanics, strategy,
footwork, and cardiovascular endurance into each and every clinic and lesson.
He pushes hard to get results, and enjoys seeing it pay off in his student’s
games when they build confidence and stamina.
Gene is
looking forward to working hard with our already top-notch program in order to
improve its diversity and continue to make it the quality program that everyone
from all levels of play will enjoy. |
